How to find the right option for you…
I cherish the classes I am able to attend at my favourite yoga or Pilates studio or visiting various gyms or studios to try a class in different locations! I also am aware that the cost of this (particularly if we are after a daily practice) mounts up and fitting our busy lives into studio timetables can often be an issue with work and family commitments!!! Anyone agree??? So, which type of yoga and Pilates class is the best fit for you? Online or in person classes?
We understand that it’s important to prioritise our health and wellbeing through staying exercising, moving and breathing to keep fit and reduce stress. Consistency is key to seeing the benefits of yoga and Pilates and to developing and maintain a yogalates routine! This doesn’t necessarily mean you need to be hitting the gym or attending costly yoga and Pilates studios daily…convenient and affordable online yogalates classes that can be accessed anytime allow you to make sure you’re keeping your body moving and active.
Whether practicing online classes or attending yogalates classes in a studio there is undoubtably so many benefits that practicing yoga and Pilates provides. A regular consistent practice results in increased strength and flexibility, improved balance and posture, improved immunity, reduced stress and enhanced overall sense of wellbeing
When I attend a yogalates class in a studio, I enjoy calming ambiance, such as the subtle meditative music, tranquil lights, aromatherapy scents, and the mindfulness it all helps to cultivate. It’s also a great way to catch up with friends by sharing a yoga and Pilates class in the studio together. For tips on how to create this calming ambience in your own space see my blog on “6 tips for creating a yogalates space in your home“.
As a physiotherapist and yogalates teacher I understand the importance of helping students develop correct technique to deepen their practice. Not everybody is capable of doing the same thing as another, so a good teacher will assist by correcting their form, and offering modifications for injuries or those just starting out with yogalates. They can also offer challenging alternatives for the experienced. If attending a class in person its important to start with an experienced and attentive instructor and to choose a class that is appropriate for you. This can be challenging when the class options and timetable don’t suit your schedule!! There’s nothing worse than being in a class that is too advanced or not what you’re after!!
As a mother, physiotherapist, full time worker I fully understand the challenges of finding time to prioritize my own physical and mental wellbeing! Often I have the full intention of attending a class or the gym but life’s ‘not so little’ obligations often prevent me from
Getting there! Can you relate!?
