Online Yogalates vs in person training

  • 17 October 2022

How to find the right option for you…

I cherish the classes I am able to attend at my favourite yoga or Pilates studio or visiting various gyms or studios to try a class in different locations! I also am aware that the cost of this (particularly if we are after a daily practice) mounts up and fitting our busy lives into studio timetables can often be an issue with work and family commitments!!! Anyone agree??? So, which type of yoga and Pilates class is the best fit for you? Online or in person classes?

We understand that it’s important to prioritise our health and wellbeing through staying exercising, moving and breathing to keep fit and reduce stress. Consistency is key to seeing the benefits of yoga and Pilates and to developing and maintain a yogalates routine! This doesn’t necessarily mean you need to be hitting the gym or attending costly yoga and Pilates studios daily…convenient and affordable online yogalates classes that can be accessed anytime allow you to make sure you’re keeping your body moving and active.

Whether practicing online classes or attending yogalates classes in a studio there is undoubtably so many benefits that practicing yoga and Pilates provides. A regular consistent practice results in increased strength and flexibility, improved balance and posture, improved immunity, reduced stress and enhanced overall sense of wellbeing

When I attend a yogalates class in a studio, I enjoy calming ambiance, such as the subtle meditative music, tranquil lights, aromatherapy scents, and the mindfulness it all helps to cultivate. It’s also a great way to catch up with friends by sharing a yoga and Pilates class in the studio together. For tips on how to create this calming ambience in your own space see my blog on “6 tips for creating a yogalates space in your home“.

As a physiotherapist and yogalates teacher I understand the importance of helping students develop correct technique to deepen their practice. Not everybody is capable of doing the same thing as another, so a good teacher will assist by correcting their form, and offering modifications for injuries or those just starting out with yogalates. They can also offer challenging alternatives for the experienced. If attending a class in person its important to start with an experienced and attentive instructor and to choose a class that is appropriate for you. This can be challenging when the class options and timetable don’t suit your schedule!! There’s nothing worse than being in a class that is too advanced or not what you’re after!!

As a mother, physiotherapist, full time worker I fully understand the challenges of finding time to prioritize my own physical and mental wellbeing! Often I have the full intention of attending a class or the gym but life’s ‘not so little’ obligations often prevent me from
Getting there! Can you relate!?

One of my favourite aspects of an online yogalates class and online yoga and Pilates subscription is that we can do the program with family and friends, in the lounge room, in the park, wherever we choose.

Benefits of Taking Online Yogalates Classes

  • You can practice yogalates in Your time and Space. Without having the necessity to arrive at a studio at a particular time, or attend a class that’s not right for you
  • Online yogalates offers many options. … of both timeframe and level or yogalates style for you to choose from. You can decide what best suits your needs on the day.. a strong flow, a gentle yin, a fundamental class
  • Practicing online yoga and Pilates allows for increased comfort. … Maybe you are not as comfortable doing yoga in the yoga studio or you are finding difficult to focus in a room full of people. Online classes allow you to grow in your practice at your pace and in a comfortable ambience of your home, garden, office or place of choice!
  • With an online class You can press the pause or rewind button at any time and learn at your own pace. It an ideal way to practice, repeat and refine a sequence or posture
  • Doing an online yogalates class allows you to form a connection with yourself. … As soon as you enter the online classes, you can feel transported into the present self and enjoy moving body, become aware of your breath and nuture your soul.
  • Many online classes and subscriptions are Affordable and can do as many classes as you like! This allows you to develop a routine, a regular (perhaps even daily) practice and feel the benefits of consistency without added cost!
  • With online subscription You can share the program with family and friends.

This is what inspired me to develop an online subscription program that is accessible anytime, anywhere. The varying class types enable us to work at our own pace and to fit in a short 20 minute class to lift our energy for the day or longer classes to really emerge ourselves in the workout, the mindful movement and the breath. One of my favourite aspects of an online subscription is that we can do the program with family and friends, in the lounge room, in the park, wherever we choose.

The saying "positivity attracts positivity" sugges The saying "positivity attracts positivity" suggests that focusing on positive thoughts and actions can lead to more positive experiences and outcomes in life. This idea aligns with the concept of the Law of Attraction, which proposes that our thoughts and feelings create our reality. By cultivating a positive mindset, individuals may find themselves attracting more positive interactions, opportunities, and overall well-being.

The sacroiliac joint( SIJ) is located in the lower The sacroiliac joint( SIJ) is located in the lower part of the back and joins the tail bone (sacrum) to one of the pelvic bones (ilium). There are two sacroiliac joints; one on either side of the spine. Due to the SIJ’s anatomical structure, its primary function is stability.
... the SIJ acts to transfer weight from the spine to the pelvis and allows a small amount of movement to occur in this area. Very often, either due to injury, lack of movement or overuse; the SIJ can get stuck OR has too much movement which causes dysfunction or pain in the area.
These gentle exercises focusing on the pelvic area, hip muscles and butt can help alleviate pain and improve mobility. And stability...
