How Many Calories are Burned in Yogalates?

Typically, the longer a class is, the more calories you’ll burn. As yogalates is such a diverse practice you can burn anywhere from 100-400 calories in a class. Depending on whether the class is 20 minutes or 60 minutes, the intensity, your current weight, and your fitness level all play a part in how many calories you’ll burn in each class.

Yogalates is a harmonious blend of yoga and Pilates, with a touch of dance and meditation. Yogalates was founded by Jonathan Urla in 1997, but it was Louise Solomon who further developed yogalates making it what it is today. There are two sacroiliac joints; one on either side of the spine. Due to the SIJ’s anatomical structure, its primary function is stability.
... the SIJ acts to transfer weight from the spine to the pelvis and allows a small amount of movement to occur in this area. Very often, either due to injury, lack of movement or overuse; the SIJ can get stuck OR has too much movement which causes dysfunction or pain in the area.
